Dance Party

A Piece of Advice

Kids are the most beautiful while they sleep, right?  At some point in time you are going to walk by your child's room and be tempted to check in on them and gaze lovingly at their beautiful face while they blissfully slumber.  You will see something like this...

You will then think to yourself, "Oh, look at that cute face...I should take a picture".  DO NOT DO THIS!!  Okay, so you will probably get the beautiful shot of your sleeping baby, but as I learned the hard way this morning, about 2 seconds afterward you will also get this...
That is, of course, if you are silly enough to use the flash in a darkened room.  I am now realizing that most of you are undoubtedly smarter than I am.  Okay then, carry on.

I'm tougher than I look, Mom

Apparently not.

Its okay, Aspen knows just how you feel.

It's so tough being a kid.

Chef Micah

And welcome to our show, cooking with Micah.  In today's episode we will be making Fifi's French Toast.
But first, a short commercial break in which Micah's little brother Mason will model his handsomeness in the chef outfit.

...And we're back.  Now for the list of ingredients.  Here we have 6 slices of bread (make sure it is firm-textured), 2 eggs, 1/2 c milk, and a dash of cinnamon.

Now we will mix all the ingredients except the bread in a medium sized mixing bowl...

Melt about a tablespoon of butter in a skillet on medium heat. Dip your bread one at a time in the egg mixture and place in skillet.  Cook until bottom is light brown and then flip.  Cook until second side is also light brown.  Repeat this with remaining bread pieces.  Serve with powdered sugar or fresh fruit and enjoy!

Mmmm, delicious!

Does this mean I'm old?

I have a 5 year old son!  5!!

Here is Micah blowing out the candles on his birthday pie

Opening presents...

Lets see how he made out...

His favorite movie...now we don't have to put it on hold at the library anymore.

Micah loves to help Mom and Dad cook, so he got his own cookbook and I made him this chef hat and puppy apron.
And of course, his favorite present of all....ZhuZhu pets!!  Micah had been telling me for weeks how he wanted to get some of these.  Unfortunately for him Mom is kind of lame and doesn't like buying new toys...but good old Grandma came through...Thanks Grandma!

Happy Birthday Little Man!

Removing Brian's wisdom

Brian had oral surgery about a week ago.  I attempted to capture the chipmunkness of his cheeks, but you really can't see how swollen he is from these pictures.  These were taken on the third day, after a lot of the swelling had gone down.  Seriously, I thought he was going to get stretch marks on his face.  It was hilarious to see him try to talk...his little lips were moving up and down, but his jaw and huge balloon cheeks were not moving with his lips.  He couldn't open his jaw more than a couple centimeters...poor Brian.  But, don't let this sad face fool you...he still managed to eat ice cream sandwiches and birthday pie.

There's nothing in the world quite like...

Does anyone else feel like this is their single solitary goal in life?
